Reducing valves

These valves are used to provide unattended pressure reduction in a pipeline, obtaining the necessary operating energy from the fluid flowing through the valve.

The valves can be direct acting, like the Quitetite, Double Control and AD10 or pilot operated, like the Standfast pressure regulator which are high capacity valves.

Our reducing valves are provided in a range of sizes from 15mm to 300mm and in various materials from bronze through to stainless steel.

Quitetite reducing valve

Quitetite reducing valve

  • Two versions : QT-64 for steam, air and liquid. QT-AWV for seawater and dirty water applications.
  • Robust simple construction with standardised parts to give easy maintenance at longer intervals.
  • Balanced design unaffected by changes in inlet pressure.
  • Responds instantly to changes in demand.
  • Reduced pressure accuracy ±5% from full flow to 10% of flow.
  • Single seat design for control at low flow.
  • Closing pressure performance +7% of reduced pressure.
  • Soft valve faces suitable for dead end conditions.

Double control reducing valve

  • Suitable for big pressure reductions where inlet does not exceed 51 barG.
  • Self contained balance pipe.
  • Closing pressure performance +7% of reduced pressure.
  • Balanced design unaffected by changes in inlet pressure.
  • Responds instantly to changes in demand.
  • Reduced pressure accuracy ±5% from full flow to 10% of flow (10 to 1 turndown).
  • Soft valve faces suitable for dead end conditions.
  • Single seat design for control at low flow.

AD10 reducing valve

AD10 reducing valve

  • WRAS approved.
  • Spring corrosion protected.
  • Dead tight shut off.
  • Heavy duty diaphragm can stand downstream surges even at 80°C.
  • Stirrup links the diaphragm to the face.
  • Free floating mechanism can handle all types of water.
  • Bronze body not affected by wear or corrosion.
  • Valve face does not deform - high flow velocity keeps the face free of dirt.
  • Stirrup centred by bottom plug eliminating jamming risks.
